What are venetian blinds?
Venetian blinds are horizontal slats in wood, faux wood, or aluminum that tilt to control light and raise to clear the window. Tilt them a little for a soft glow, more for a view, or close them fully for privacy. They are the most precise light control you can get from a blind, and one of the easiest to keep clean.
Why choose them
Venetians suit rooms where you adjust the light often and want a classic, architectural look. Faux wood stands up to steam and splashes in kitchens and bathrooms. Real wood brings warmth to living rooms and offices. Aluminum gives a slim, modern line. Every blind is made to your window's exact size, with cordless and motorized options for safety and convenience.

Wood, faux wood, or aluminum?
The material is the main decision with venetians. Here is how the three compare.
- 01
Real wood
The lightest and warmest option, with natural grain. Keep it out of bathrooms and steamy kitchens, where humidity can warp the slats.
- 02
Faux wood
Looks like wood and stands up to moisture, so it is the right choice for kitchens and bathrooms. It is heavier, so it suits small and medium windows best.
- 03
Aluminum
Slim, tough, and modern. The lightest to lift on big windows and the easiest to clean.
- 04
Slat width
Wide slats show more view when tilted open and suit large windows and traditional rooms. Slim slats suit small windows and modern spaces.

Are venetian blinds good for privacy?
Yes. Tilt the slats closed for full privacy, or tilt them upward to keep privacy from the street while still letting light in.
Do venetian blinds block out light?
Closed, they block most light, but a little comes through between the slats and at the edges. For real blackout, look at blackout roller or zebra blinds.
Faux wood or real wood?
Faux wood for kitchens, bathrooms, and anywhere humid. Real wood for living rooms, offices, and bedrooms, where it is lighter to lift and warmer to look at.
Can I get cordless venetian blinds?
Yes. Cordless lift and motorized tilt are both available, and both remove the cords that concern parents of small children.
How do I clean venetian blinds?
Run a duster or a soft cloth along the slats with them tilted closed, then flip and repeat. Faux wood and aluminum take a damp cloth too.
